Writing Your First Book

Primarily for writers of long-form fiction and nonfiction, but also for those assembling collections of short stories, essays, or poems.

This workshop addresses structural and other decisions and gives writers a template and tools to get control of long-form project and make it viable.

Writing History

For writers fo fiction or trade nonfiction.

In this workshop, discover how to be both accurate and interesting, investigate the ethical choices a writer makes in addressing real figures and events of the past, and develop methodologies for being true to the time in language, metaphor, and worldview.

In addition to addressing the creative process and the craft of fiction and nonfiction, Philip Gerard offers workshops (adaptable for shorter or longer duration) coaching writers and articulating lessons he has learned from the best in the field. Workshops addresssing other topics can be arranged.
